failed carnival.
Apr. 24th, 2010 05:51 pmGreat gusts, sheets of rain, hail, tornado warnings going off all around, people running by and shrieking.
The giddiness of running and slipping and almost falling and whipping rain-soaked hair out of your eyes and the realization that you’re wearing a white shirt and the utter rush of adrenaline as the sky opens up and pours.
Erin, Alaa, Alex, Calvin, and I walked all the way over to Brookings Hall to see the carnival only to realize that it was closed because of the tornado warnings and the huge incoming storm. And as we made our way back to the dorms, the black sky just exploded. :] It was exhilarating and just reeked of “this is what college is all about—ignoring the smart decision to stay indoors and making a break for the nearest dining hall with the rain blowing all around.”
